Why Join a Sorority?
A sorority is more than just a social group. When you join a sorority you get the chance to gain valuable experience for the years after University. Time management, budgeting, and event organization are just a few of the things women in sororities learn first-hand. It is also the most well-rounded group of individuals to be found on a University campus. If your passion is charity work, become involved in a philanthropy project. If you have always wished to become a better public speaker, become an officer in the chapter and learn how best to express yourself in front of a group. If academics are your priority, take advantage of the test banks and study groups offered.
In joining a sorority you are given the opportunity to travel, and you have a connection with people all over the world. Meeting Alumna from a sorority can give you a chance to make connections in the work force. And going through university with people that support you and who you support in turn makes it that much more fulfilling. If any of these interests speak to you, check out Formal Recruitment this fall at the University of Calgary and see for yourself what a sorority has to offer you.
